Spring Networking Brunch – Celebrating Our Unique Uplands

Women Who Work in Fieldsports, in partnership with the Women’s Upland Network, are delighted to host a Spring Networking Brunch celebrating the people, landscapes, and livelihoods of our uplands.

Taking place on Tuesday 19th May at Hampden Bank, 20–21 Charlotte Square, Edinburgh, the morning will begin with a relaxed networking brunch from 10:30am to 11:30am, providing an opportunity to connect with others working across upland and rural sectors.

This will be followed by a programme of talks from 11:45am to 1:30pm, featuring contributions from a diverse panel of speakers representing conservation, land management, rural enterprise, policy, and consultancy. Speakers include:

  • Iona Campbell, Women Who Work in Fieldsports

  • Rachael Hamilton, Parliamentary Candidate for the Scottish Conservative Party

The event offers an opportunity to share insights, hear from leaders across the sector, and strengthen professional networks within the uplands community.

We can’t wait to celebrate our unique uplands with you. This event is free for everyone.

Empower-HER Coaching Day with Jessica Peace

Join us at the Holland & Holland Shooting Grounds on Wednesday 27th May for a coaching day with Jessica Peace from Kingstone Coaching & Training Consultancy.

The Empower-Her day is designed tackle some of our most common challenges which may hold us back in either our personal or professional life.

We know that within our community we have many incredible ladies with inspiring ideas and interesting points of view.  Our Empower-Her day is designed to align the science around confidence and provide tools to guide clarity, leaving our guests with the confidence and clarity to move forwards on their chosen path.

The day will be a combination of lecture-based sessions, individual mini sessions, and group discussion all designed to educate, empower and provoke thought.

The day is suitable for anyone who either feels stuck moving forwards or has so many ideas the overwhelm feels suffocating. 

It will an inspiring and fun day celebrating our strengths and supporting each other in moving forwards.

Photographer Katie Young (@Country_life_lens) will be with us for the day and able to provide professional headshots. There is also the chance to do some shooting at the Holland & Holland grounds afterwards.

Arrive: 9am - Light breakfast

9.30am - Start of the Empower-HER Day

11am - Break for tea & coffee

2pm - Lunch

2.30pm - Optional shooting at H&H - please note this will have to be booked separately with the H&H Team. WWWF Members have a special rate.

Join us on Tuesday 2nd June for a webinar on Lyme Disease Prevention with Dr Norman Lannigan OBE, Trustee of the Lyme Resource Centre.

Designed for anyone who loves the outdoors, this session gives you the knowledge and confidence to enjoy nature safely. You’ll learn simple, effective ways to protect yourself from tick bites, how to remove ticks correctly, and the key early signs of Lyme disease to watch for.

Led by Dr Norman Lannigan OBE, an experienced pharmacist, educator, and LRC Trustee, this webinar offers expert guidance grounded in decades of healthcare experience.

Whether you work in the field or simply love being outside, you’ll leave equipped with the skills and resources to stay informed and protected.

Free educational materials from the LRC will also be available to support ongoing awareness.

Fieldsports First Aid Course and Shooting

Holland & Holland Shooting Grounds

Join us for a bespoke first aid course specifically designed for those involved with fieldsports. Fieldsports see participants and instructors operating off road vehicles and weapons, often in remote locations. Whilst hugely rewarding, this scenario represents a unique set of challenges for a first aider and the emergency services. The ability to be a part of your own solution is literally lifesaving. This course is based around a fieldsports risk assessment; is entirely practical; and meets the Health and Safety Executive guidelines. Learning is delivered using realistic scenarios outdoors. Candidates are assessed through practical demonstration not written examination and you will receive an accredited certificate at the end of the course.

Plus there is the opportunity to do some shooting at the wonderful Holland & Holland Shooting Grounds if you wish.
