The Countryside Alliance Needs You!

Trail Hunting Consultation

Many within our community will already have seen the government’s consultation on a proposed ban on trail hunting in England and Wales. This is an important moment for everyone connected to field sports and the rural economy, particularly women whose work, businesses and daily lives are closely tied to the countryside.

The outcome of this consultation could shape future legislation, with potential implications for livelihoods, rural communities and the continuation of lawful countryside activities. For many women working in field sports, whether professionally, as volunteers, or through family businesses - these changes will have an impact.

Tens of thousands of people have already taken part in the consultation, but it is essential that as many perspectives as possible are represented. Ensuring that decision-makers hear directly from those with experience of the countryside is key.

Responding is quick and straightforward. By taking part, you are helping to ensure that the voices of women working across field sports are included in a conversation that will help shape the future of the sector.

If you have not yet responded, we encourage you to take a few moments to do so before the consultation closes on 18 June. Collective action matters and participation from across the community is vital.
