Women in Waders X Women Who Work in Fieldsports Fly Fishing Day

We had a truly wonderful day in October with the Women in Waders group up in Aberdeenshire, enjoying a fantastic fly-fishing event at Lochter Fisheries. The day was open to anglers of all abilities - and plenty of fish were caught!

The event began with a warm welcome from organiser Lesley Peake, before we were split into small groups, each accompanied by a knowledgeable guide. After a quick casting session to get everyone warmed up, we headed onto the water. The weather was crisp and bright, with that unmistakable feeling that snow was in the air - a perfect backdrop for a day outdoors.

By lunchtime, it was time to come in, thaw out, and swap stories over a hearty meal. It was wonderful to meet so many participants who had travelled from near and far to join us.

In the afternoon, we returned to the water for one last chance to tempt the trout - and many were successful (sadly, not me this time!).

A huge thank you to Lesley Peake, Al Peake, Blaine Lyon, and everyone who helped make the day such a success. We’re already planning the next one, so keep your eyes peeled for details!
